v0.1.45 (Early Access)

Joining a friend works on any size of save now, and opening the ops console no longer stutters. An attack alarm now clears when the attack stops instead of flapping or sticking.

Fixed

Multiplayer

  • Joining a friend works on a big save. The world went to a guest in pieces too large for the connection, so every piece was discarded. Small saves joined, larger ones never could.
  • A joining guest is no longer buried in world updates. The host sent a still-loading guest a full copy of the world four times a second, until the connection died.
  • Answers to a guest jump the queue. A reply the guest was blocked on could sit behind a backlog of world updates, so a busy join looked like a dead link.
  • Opening the ops console stops hitching. Every panel told the host what it wanted to watch, then froze the game waiting to be thanked for it. On a guest that stuttered every open.
  • The host leaving ends your session. When the host quit or loaded another save you were left standing in a world nobody was running, for thirteen seconds, before being told anything.

Performance

  • The periodic stutter on big sites is gone. Every couple of seconds the game resent every machine, switch, cable and tenant you already had, then froze reading them back.
  • Your actions no longer resend the whole world. Buying a machine, renaming one or scrolling the comms panel made the game resend racks, catalogues, regions and quests you already had. Single-player too.

Security

  • An attack alarm clears when the attack does. Raising one used a share of the attack while clearing it used a fixed number, so an alarm could flicker or stay up after the flood ended.

Customers

  • A new tenant always appears. One who signed at the same moment as a routine world refresh was missing from your lists until something else changed. Shipped in v0.1.44.
  • A tenant lost during onboarding is reported. Losing one to a breach in its first hours removed it with no departure notice, no feed entry and no quest progress. Shipped in v0.1.44.

Notes

  • Saves work in both directions with v0.1.44. Neither the save format nor the world update format changed.
  • Multiplayer connects across v0.1.44 and v0.1.45. The world update format is unchanged.
  • The join and hitch fixes follow the host. Both players get them when the host runs v0.1.45. Joining a v0.1.44 host can still stall, whichever version the guest is on.
