Connection
Configure the Local API endpoint and understand connection and reconnect states.
The connection screen appears when the Companion cannot read a complete simulation snapshot. It keeps the endpoint controls and recent connection attempts visible so that you can diagnose the problem without guessing.
Endpoint fields
| Field | Typical local value | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Protocol | http | Transport used by the Local API |
| Hostname | 127.0.0.1 | Computer running Uptime |
| Port | 9875 | Port exposed by the game |
Select Save & connect after changing the endpoint. Use Retry when the endpoint is already correct and the game has just started or resumed.
Connection states
- Connecting — the Companion is waiting for the Local API to answer.
- Reconnecting — the previous game state remains visible while the connection is restored.
- Disconnected — start Uptime, enable its Local API, or correct the endpoint.
- API Connected — live data is available. Hover the badge for the endpoint and detected game version.
The connection page also shows the last attempt, the last successful connection, the latest result, and up to six recent attempts from the current browser session.
