A flat strip full of sockets that lives at the front of the rack. Each socket is already wired to a known destination behind the scenes, so when you need to move a connection you re-patch a short front jumper instead of dragging a long cable through the whole rack.
The long runs get laid once and never touched again. All the day-to-day churn happens on the short, labelled jumpers at the front, where you can see what you are doing. Fewer cables disturbed means fewer accidental outages, a tidier rack, and a neatness score that actually reflects how safe the rack is to work in.

Front-of-rack patch panel terminates the permanent structured runs. Equipment connects panel -> device via short, manageable jumpers; the long permanent runs ride trays / risers behind the panel and stay put. The panel decouples the volatile patch layer from the stable backbone layer.
